Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA -- Rising Filipino tennis star Tennielle Madis of the Philippine Tennis Academy (PTA) clinched the singles and doubles titles in the 2024 Seed Academy Cup International Junior Championships in Changhua, Taiwan this week.

Madis played the doubles with PTA teammate Stefi Aludo.

Entering as the second seed, Madis displayed dominant form to win the singles title without dropping a  single set and conceding just seven games across five matches.

She also bested Japan’s third seed Rira Kosaka 6-0, 6-4 in the finals.

This victory marks Madis' fifth single title in just eight events alongside J30 Makati PHINMA Week 1 and PHINMA Week 2 in July, J60 titles in Colombo (Sri Lanka) in September, Nonthaburi (Thailand) in October.

In that span, Madis and Aludo also clinched their fourth doubles title.

Thanks to her stellar performance, Madis is expected to break into the World Junior Rankings Top 300 next week after being unranked with zero points in July 2024, bringing her to two bigger events in Hong Kong this month.

The North Cotabato Pride hailing from M'Lang, has one more year in the Juniors division and is vying to compete at several Grand Slams next year with the guidance of former Philippine No. 1 Davis Cupper Bobbie Angelo together with the PTA.
