Two out of three Filipino-represented squads opened their 2025 VCT Pacific Stage 2 with a dub during the first half of the "Super Week" and the start of all competing squad's journey for a slot at VALORANT Champions Paris.

Fresh of their Esports World Cup and VALORANT Masters Toronto campaigns, newly crowned champs Paper Rex hit the ground running by taking down Masters Bangkok champs T1 in two maps at overtime.  A newly-revamped Global Esports also took their first win by upsetting Stage 1 champs RRQ in convincing fashion.

The newly rebuilt Team Secret were not so fortunate in their opener after being reverse-swept by Korean Ascension squad, Nongshim RedForce.

Secret started strong off the gate in Sunset after taking the opening rounds and ended the first half at 7-5. The SEA squad continued to dominate the second half and concluded Nongshim's map pick at 13-8.

In Ascent, it was an even affair for both teams as the half ended at 6-6. Secret was able to take the pistol and anti-eco in the second half, but Nongshim began to pull away and Secret taking only a couple of rounds before the Korean Ascension squad closed the map at 10-13.

Lotus became a one-sided affair in favor of Nongshim, taking the early rounds and allowing Secret to take only three rounds in the first half to end 3-9 in the half. The "9-3 curse" did not work this time around as Nongshim swiftly ended the map and series at 3-13.

Paper Rex vs T1

Despite having little rest from EWC, Paper Rex started strong in their perma-banned map, Haven. Running a double-duelist composition featuring Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto playing Waylay, PRX dominated their first half with a 10-2 scoreline.

As the second half commenced, T1 managed to turn the tables by creating their own 2-10 scoreline and bring the map to overtime. PRX eventually closed out the series after eight rounds in post-regulation, 17-15.

Lotus was an even series for the two champions, initially concluding 6-6 at the half. T1 took the lead at the second half before PRX rallied back to force another overtime. PRX did not prolong the series like Haven and ending the series at 14-12.

Global Esports vs RRQ

Chae "yoman" Young-moon from Gen.G and Joseph "ban" Oh from Talon replaced Pinoy players Mark "patrickWHO" Musni and Kelly "KellyS" Sedillo, who moved to Team Secret.

Former Cloud9 and The Guard coach Matthew "mCe" Elmore and Daniel "Platoon" Zhou add to Donnie "Elevated" Chell's coaching team as assistant coach and analyst respectively.

In Haven, GE was in the driver's seat for the whole map, ending at 9-3 at the half and only giving RRQ the pistol and anti-eco in the second half before concluding at 13-5.

Despite RRQ taking the pistol and anti-eco in the new map Corrode, GE continued to dominate by ending the half at another 9-3 scoreline. The Indonesian squad began to make the comeback at the second half by taking four rounds, but it was too late as GE complete the series sweep with 13-7.

All three teams will have their next matches on July 19, with Paper Rex battling DetonatioN FocusMe in Group Omega, while Team Secret and Global Esports will have their Kickoff rematch in Group Omega.
