MANILA -- Pinoy VALORANT fans will now have another reason to root for Paper Rex.

Patrick "PatMen" Mendoza has joined the #WGaming squad as their sixth man, the team announced.

Mendoza is the latest Filipino player to move up to the tier 1 scene in the 2025 season after Global Esports rebuilt their roster with Filipino players Federico "Papi" Evangelista, Kelly "KellyS" Sedillo, Mark "patrickWHO" Musni.

He also adds to the Filipino representation in VCT Pacific after all-Filipino squad Team Secret led the way for top-tier Filipino VALORANT.

Prior to joining the popular Pacific organization, PatMen played with the VCT Challengers 2025 Southeast Asia team NAOS Esports and with ZOL Esports, which won in the Predator League Philippines in 2024.

PatMen and the rest of ZOL reached the grand finals of VCT Challengers League Philippines, only falling to NAOS, and qualified to compete in the revamped VCT Challengers 2025 Southeast Asia.

"As VALORANT reaches its 5th year, it’s no surprise that the VCT circuit is more competitive than ever, and we must energize and reinvigorate ourselves. An injection of new blood with young eyes brings fresh perspectives to our game. Adding PatMen to the PRX family allows us to widen our experiments with a greater breadth of playstyles," said Paper Rex Chief Gaming Officer (CGO) Harley "dsn" Örwall.

A consistent representative in VALORANT Esports' major events since its inception, the Singapore-based organization has placed as high as the grand finals of Champions: Los Angeles in 2023 and Masters: Copenhagen in 2022.

Their participation streak was recently broken after failing to qualify for VALORANT Masters: Bangkok where fellow Pacific squad T1 won the title.

With PatMen's addition, Paper Rex looks to return in their winning ways come VCT 2025: Pacific Stage 1.
