Reigning Valorant Champions Tour kings EDward Gaming and Americas' top seed G2 prevailed in their respective matches in the playoff stage of Valorant Masters: Bangkok, putting them one step closer to the tournament trophy.

EDG overcame a near upset from VCT Pacific's second seed T1 after making a comeback in the deciding map of the best of 3 series, where the Korean super team was in the lead for most of the second half.

Prior to the decider map of Pearl that ended at 13-11, the VCT champs dominated T1 in Split at 13-7, but lost their map pick Bind at 6-13.

Meanwhile, G2 defeated VCT EMEA's first seed Team Vitality in two maps, first in double-overtime in Bind at 15-13, and then taking control of the second half in Lotus to complete the series at 13-9.

With the results, G2 will have a chance to take on EDG once again in the upper bracket finals, after previously losing to the VCT China top seed in the swiss stage.

The winner of the series will gain the first slot in the grand finals and a map ban advantage.

T1 and Team Vitality will now have to fight for their tournament lives in the lower bracket where the loser will bow out of the tournament.
