<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1775818242142PBA IMAGES3 (4).jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Rain or Shine has formally retired the No. 5 jersey of Gabe Norwood on April 10, 2026.<em> PBA Images</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Rain or Shine has formally retired the jersey of Gabe Norwood, a fitting recognition for &quot;Mr. President&#x27;s&quot; loyalty and contributions to the organization.</p><p>The ceremony took place during the halftime of the Elasto Painters&#x27; clash against the Converge FiberXers on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena. </p><p>Norwood spent all of his 17 years in the PBA with Rain or Shine, the team which also picked him number one overall in the 2008 Rookie Draft.</p><p>For head coach Yeng Guiao, it was just appropriate to give Norwood his well-deserved recognition with the organization.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/4/9/pba-yeng-guiao-says-norwood-s-jersey-retirement-appropriate-recognition-0210"><strong>READ: PBA: Yeng Guiao says Norwood&#x27;s jersey retirement &#x27;appropriate recognition&#x27;<br/></strong></a></div><p>&quot;Just appropriate recognition and honor for Gabe Norwood. Ang history ng Rain or Shine ay Norwood era and post-Norwood era. Parang &#x27;yan yung kwento ng Rain or Shine ngayon eh.
