I think we&#x27;re just going to keep moving forward and continue to work together,&quot; he told reporters after the 93-66 loss to Australia on Sunday. &quot;I&#x27;m still happy for the guys. We fought hard to the end, but we fell short. So, on to the next,&quot; Gomez de Liaño said. The 26-year-old guard was one of the silver linings in the tough 69-66 defeat of Gilas to New Zealand last Thursday, tallying 10 points and two assists, including two triples. Gomez de Liaño was even lauded by Gilas head coach Tim Cone, saying he&#x27;s a &#x27;special talent&#x27; who will be <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/2/26/fiba-time-cone-believes-juan-gomez-de-lia-o-will-be-a-mainstay-for-gilas-2247">a mainstay in the national team</a>.  However, the PBA rookie was unable to contribute offensively against Australia, finishing with four rebounds and two assists in the loss. &quot;I think Australia just did a good job with their scouting report.
