PBA Images.MANILA — Terrafirma Dyip is off to a dream start in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, with Jerrick Ahanmisi emerging as one of its key catalysts.</div>Ahanmisi played a crucial role in their back-to-back victories to open the conference, including wins over the Titan Ultra Giant Risers and the favored Converge FiberXers.“I think the team has shown a lot of chemistry, but the coaches keep stressing to have fun with the game,” said Ahanmisi, who was named PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for the period of March 11 to 15.Buying into that mindset helped Terrafirma notch its first 2-0 start since the 2024 Philippine Cup—the last time the franchise reached the playoffs.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/3/14/pba-mubashar-ali-torches-converge-as-terrafirma-secures-ot-win-1941">READ: Mubashar Ali torches Converge as Terrafirma secures OT win</a></div>Ahanmisi was adjudged the first weekly winner for the conference in the league’s 50th season, edging out NLEX’s Robert Bolick and the Phoenix duo of Ricci Rivero and Evan Nelle.Members of the PBA Press Corps also considered the efforts of Bolick, Rivero, and Nelle, whose teams likewise opened with 2-0 records, but Ahanmisi’s all-around play proved decisive.He averaged 20.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.5 steals across the two wins, with import Ali Mubashar, Paolo Hernandez, and rookie Geo Chiu also playing key roles.His best performance came against Titan Ultra in the conference opener on March 11, when he poured in 17 of his 28 points in the third quarter to power a 112-82 rout at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.The showing came on the heels of a strong PBA All-Star Weekend in Candon, Ilocos Sur, where Ahanmisi became the first player to win two skills events: the Obstacle Challenge and the Three-Point Shootout.
