The two top guns will lead their respective sides as Hua Siong College of Iloilo-Lamtex Pipes and Xavier School-Acrocity x Zhoosh face off for the inaugural championship of the esteemed Fil-Chi alumni league.

Yap, however, is just one of the weapons for Hua Siong with Ken Bono, Leo Canuday, and Rhagnee Sinco all conspiring in leading the team to a perfect 10-0 elimination run.

But Xavier isn’t far behind as it slowly got its bearings and finished with a six-game win streak to end up with an 8-2 card behind the exploits of Yeo, Chris Tiu, Joseph Chua, and Eldridge Liao.

The best-of-three Finals begins on Monday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Game Two is on Wednesday at the same venue, while Game 3, if necessary, is on Friday.

Hua Siong made the most of its top seed status dispatching the Albert Chua-led no. 4-seed Grace Christian College-Goodfellow Pharma, 96-69, in the semifinals; while Xavier outlasted Christian Luanzon and the no. 3-seed St. Stephen’s High School-SCAG, 82-77, in overtime last Wednesday.

The other two semifinalists will play in a one-game battle for third also on Monday in the tournament.

Chiang Kai Shek College-Big Chill and Uno High School-CW Home Depot made it to the quarterfinals of this league which has Wilbert Loa as chairman and Junel Baculi as commissioner, while also participating were St. Peter the Apostle School-Metro Asia, St. Jude Catholic School-Pet Plus, Philippine Chen Kuang High School-Exped, Tiong Se Academy-Mighty Plast, and Westminster High School.
