MANILA, Philippines – Several basketball players running for local posts cast their ballots on Monday.

Basketball players James Yap, who is seeking another term as councilor in San Juan City, proudly announced on his Instagram that he had already voted.

"Done voting para sa bayan," Yap said.

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora who reportedly had a minor issue in the voting process, shared on Facebook that he has successfully voted at Xavier School, Barangay Greenhills.

He came to the precinct with his family.

"Done voting with Keri, Rocco and my Mom Rose in Xavier School, Barangay Greenhills," said Zamora.

Among those who are also chasing council posts in the same city are decorated PBA players Renren Ritualo and Don Allado.

Meanwhile, multi-awarded SEA Games gold medalist and Olympian Eric Buhain is also running for congress in the first district of Batangas.

He happily shared the experience of voting for the 12th time.

"Pang - LABINDALAWANG beses ko na bumoto pero kasarap pa rin sa pakiramdam gamitin ang sagradong karapatan! Ikaw ba, nakaboto na?" Buhain said in a Facebook post.
