MANILA -- Converge held firm down the stretch to fend off TNT, 100-94, and secure a second straight win in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup, Sunday evening at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The FiberXers saw what was once a 22-point lead trimmed to single digits heading into the final period, but big plays by Justine Baltazar and Justin Arana kept them in control.

Both big men finished with double-doubles, with Arana putting up 22 points and 11 boards and Baltazar contributing 21 points and 12 rebounds. Schonny Winston (19) and Alec Stockton (19) also reached double-digits for the FiberXers who are now 3-2 in the conference.

The Tropang 5G were within seven points, 86-79, off a Kelly Williams three-pointer with still over five minutes left. But Baltazar and Arana responded with three straight buckets to restore a double-digit advantage, 92-79.

A four-pointer by Calvin Oftana with 20 seconds to go pegged the final score as TNT could not come any closer.

Oftana finished with 33 points while RR Pogoy added 15 markers for the Tropang 5G, who fell to 0-2 in the tournament.
