MANILA — Nelson Asaytono and Bong Hawkins are officially part of the PBA Greatest Players list and rightfully so.

"The Bull" and "The Hawk" formalized their entry into the elite club on Friday during the league's celebration of its 50th anniversary, giving recognition to their remarkable feats in the league.

Asaytono is a seven-time PBA champion and a three-time Mythical First Team member, while Hawkins is an eight-time champion and a two-time member of the Mythical First Team.

They might have had grudges as they weren't added to the "greatest roster" sooner, but Asaytono and Hawkins have dumped those already as they cherished the long overdue acknowledgement.

"Okay naman, masaya kami. Finally, nakasama rin kami," said Asaytono in relief.

"Tinatanggap na namin ‘yung kung ano ‘yung nangyari dati. Pero okay na, masaya kami," Asaytono added.

"We feel honored na nakasama kami sa grupong ito pero sabi nga ni Nelson, dapat dati pa," Hawkins said.

"Muntik na 'ko magbigti," Hawkins said jokingly. "Ngayon, okay na 'ko."

They were added to the Greatest Players list alongside Danny Seigle, Jeffrey Cariaso, Manny Victorino, Yoyoy Villamin, the late Arnie Tuadles, and active players June Mar Fajardo and Scottie Thompson, completing the 50-man legendary roster.
