ANTIPOLO – Barangay Ginebra had options in case Justin Brownlee won't be able to play for the rest of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup Finals.

Tim Cone said one alternative was naturalized Filipino center Ange Kouame, although the Ginebra mentor said he had "a little bit of a knee issue."

"I had spoken to Ange personally, and asked him to come, in case," said Cone. "But he had a little bit of a knee issue. So we weren't sure that he'd be able to but we were thinking maybe we'd have to go all Filipino Friday, then maybe he could go on Sunday, Ange."

"That was our thoughts if Justin would have been out for the series."

Another name came up, said Cone, and it could have been a storyline for the ages if it happened. He revealed that Rondae Hollis-Jefferson's brother Rahlir was actually a Plan B for them.

"We were exploring options, we were making phone calls, there was some talk about getting RHJ's brother as well," Cone bared, asserting that they're open to all possibilities.

"We had everything on the table. Al Francis [Chua] was the one really in charge of that."

But everything went well for the Gin Kings, as Brownlee pushed through injury, leading the team to a series-tying 95-78 victory over TNT in Game 4 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Gilas Pilipinas mainstay was named player of the match after producing 23 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.
