Meralco's Jansen Rios in action. PBA ImagesMANILA, Philippines – Meralco got to live another day in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup.

This, as the Bolts defeated Ginebra, 108-104, in Game 2 of the best-of-three quarterfinals, Friday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in the nation's capital.

Meralco managed to weather any Ginebra comeback, as Jamie Malonzo tried to live up to the "never say die" spirit.

The Gin Kings saw themselves within four after Malonzo sank a couple of freebies and a trey, 108-104, 34.9 seconds left.

But that comeback attempt fell short as RJ Abarrientos unfortunately missed a potential game-tying four, after Ginebra gained possession from a 24-second shotclock violation by Meralco, 10.6 seconds remaining in regulation.
