MANILA — PBA player Fran Yu has apologized to barangay kagawad Victorino Farrales following the commotion at Bgy. 350, Sta. Cruz, Manila on Tuesday, the latter confirmed on Wednesday.

The incident happened after Yu parked his motorcycle in front of a fast-food chain near the barangay hall, which, according to barangay officials, was not a designated parking area.

According to Farrales, he and Yu had an initial discussion on Tuesday evening regarding the incident.

Farrales earlier told ABS-CBN News that he plans to file charges against Yu. However, he now said he will see what happens during their next meeting this week.

“Ang question sa amin is kung maaayos pa ba or what? Siguro may chance pa. Bigyan natin ng chance ‘yong usapan kung ano man ito," he said.

Barangay chairman Efleda Dela Cruz, who was present at the time of commotion, hopes both parties can reconcile, stressing that the incident might just be a result of heightened emotions.

Meanwhile, Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner Willie Marcial stated he has to know first what really transpired on the incident.

“Kailangan kong alamin. Hindi ko pa nakikita ang video. Pangalawa, kailangan ko munang makausap si Fran Yu," said Marcial.

In a text message, Fran Yu’s father, Freddie Yu, confirmed they will meet with Farrales on Thursday, February 20.
