Photo from Korean Basketball League.JD Cagulangan triumphed over Kevin Quiambao yet again much like in their last UAAP men’s basketball clash, but this time, it was in the Korean Basketball League.

Cagulangan and the Suwon KT Sonicboom escaped Quiambao and the Goyang Sono Skygunners, 78-73, during their Friday clash in the 2024-25 season of the KBL.

Caculangan only had four points with four assists, a rebound, and an assist, but these were enough for KT Suwon as the Season Finals MVP made half of his scoring output in the clutch.

After they came back from a 13-point deficit at halftime, KT Suwon saw themselves only ahead by a point, 74-73, following a Quiambao three-pointer at the 1:22 mark of the contest.

Unfortunately for KQ and Goyang Sono, Cagulangan was sent to the foul line 23 seconds later and went on to ace both of his attempts to extend their cushion to three, 76-73.

Skygunners import DJ Burns had the chance to cut their deficit anew, but he missed his attempts from the 15-foot-stripe at the 39.6-second mark, while Quiambao tallied a costly turnover with only 3.9 ticks left right before the final buzzer sounded.

One silver lining for the Season 87 MVP was his stellar performance which came through an 18-point, eight-rebound game with two dimes, a block, and a steal, but these went for naught as they absorbed their 24th loss in 34 appearances.

On the other hand, Cagulangan and Suwon KT improved to 19-15 in the team standings, and they currently sit in fourth place.

JD and KQ will be facing off once again on Thursday, March 13.
