Kiefer Ravena in action for Yokohama in the 2024-25 season of the B.League. (c) B.LEAGUEKiefer Ravena made some big plays down the stretch in the Yokohama B-Corsairs' 85-73 upset of defending champion Hiroshima, Sunday evening at the Yokohama International Pool.

The B-Corsairs regained their winning ways in the 2024-25 B.League season, improving to 9-15 in the Central Conference.

Ravena helped hold off the Dragonflies, nailing a jumper with two and a half minutes left then assisting on a triple by Gary Clark for an 83-71 Yokohama lead with 1:44 to play. 

After Hiroshima's Dwayne Evans scored to make it a 10-point game, Ravena dished to Maik Kotsar for a dunk that restored an 85-73 advantage with less than 90 seconds left, and the B-Corsairs held on from there. 

Ravena finished with 13 points, two assists, and a steal in 25 minutes. Clark led Yokohama with 23 points and 12 rebounds. 

Also emerging triumphant on Sunday were AJ Edu and the Nagasaki Velca, who routed Ibaraki 97-85 at the Adastria Mito Arena. The Gilas Pilipinas center had four points, two rebounds, and a block in 16 minutes of playing time.

Other Filipinos suffered losses on Sunday, however.

Matthew Wright had nine points and four rebounds in Kawasaki's 97-65 loss to Seahorses Mikawa. It was their tenth loss in a row, dropping them to 4-20 in the season.

The Osaka Evessa fell 89-81 to powerhouse Chiba Jets at the Ookini Arena Maishima, with Ray Parks tallying 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists. The result snapped a two-game winning run for Osaka; they are now 13-11.

Dwight Ramos was limited to two points in Levanga Hokkaido's 84-79 loss to the league-leading San-En NeoPhoenix at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium. Levanga is now 9-15 after suffering a second straight defeat. 

Meanwhile, an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double from Kai Sotto wasn't enough as the Koshigaya Alphas were crushed 96-80 by Kyoto at the Koshigaya City Gymnasium. It was the sixth defeat in a row for Koshigaya, who are now 6-18 in the tournament.

Nonetheless, Sotto continues to impress with the Alphas, as he is averaging close to a double-double with 14.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

In the second division, Roosevelt Adams and the Yamagata Wyverns held on for an 83-81 win against Fukui, with the Fil-Am netting 10 points and three boards.

However, Geoffrey Chiu and the Ehime Orange Vikings absorbed an 83-61 rout at the hands of Fukuoka. The former Ateneo big man only managed two points and an assist in 11 minutes.
