This, as the Blue Eagles have secured the commitment of Jelo Rota, Lars Fjellvang, and Alden Cainglet — three standouts from Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu — the school announced on Tuesday.

"It’s an honor for me and my family to be given the chance to play for Ateneo in the UAAP," said Rota, a 6-foot-6 forward who previously participated in the 2023 NBA Basketball Without Borders Asia camp.

"I never imagined that an island boy from Bantayan would be able to reach this far. What was once a dream has now become a reality,” he added.

Meanwhile, the 6-foot-7 Fjellvang looks to bring his size and skill to the Tab Baldwin-mentored team that is in need of a major boost to its frontline.

"I’m thrilled to join the Ateneo Blue Eagles for my college journey," said the Filipino-Nigerian. "It’s been my dream to play in the UAAP, especially under Coach Tab.”

Completing the trio is Alden Cainglet, the 6-foot-3 team captain of the Magi Eagles.

"Playing in the UAAP has been my dream since I started playing basketball, and I’m very excited for this new journey, especially since I’ll be part of the Ateneo Blue Eagles," Cainglet remarked.

The three will join a growing roster of Magis Eagles alumni in Ateneo’s program, including Jared Bahay, Michael Asoro, and Kris Porter.

The troika, who just recently led Sacred Heart-Ateneo to its fourth straight CESAFI juniors title, is eligible to play starting UAAP Season 88.

They swept the University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguar Cubs last Saturday to claim the Season 24 championship.
