MANILA — Terrence Romeo will be donning new colors in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.

The 5-foot-11, veteran guard was a part of the two-for-two deal between the San Miguel Beermen and the TerraFirma Dyip, wherein he and Vic Manuel were dealt in exchange for Juami Tiongson and Andreas Cahilig.

“Probably isa sa pinaka sad moment ng career ko, pero ganun talaga,” said the former Gilas Pilipinas star, who won three championships and a Finals MVP with the perennial powerhouse, in an emotional Instagram post after the trade was made official.

“Walang permanente sa basketball world, importante yung happy memories and achievements natin at mga learnings hindi na mawawala,” he continued.

Romeo had an up-and-down stint with the Beermen in his five years of stay there.

After a promising first one — as that was the season wherein he got the MVP in their Commissioner's Cup Finals triumph over his former team, the TNT KaTropa — he was then riddled with injuries in the following seasons. There were  also times wherein he was seldom used, much like in the recent Season 49 Governors’ Cup.

However, "The Bro," as he was once called, refused to look at the negatives.

“Gusto ko lang mag pasalamat — to my San Miguel family sa lahat ng teammates ko, masaya ako na nakasama kayo. Sa aking mga coaches, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat especially coach Leo [Austria] for allowing me to showcase my talent para maka tulong sa team.”

“Dahil din sa San Miguel, nanalo ako ng mga championship at ibang individual awards, thank you,” continued Romeo who went on to thank their team officials including Robert Non, Gee Abanilla, Danby Henares, Alfrancis Chua, and San Miguel Corporation big boss Ramon S. Ang.

Curiously, Romeo did not mention present SMB head coach Jorge Gallent in the post.

“Good luck SMB sa lahat ng games. I wish the team all the best, see you guys around!,” added Romeo, while also quickly expressing his confidence in his newest teammates in TerraFirma.

“Thank you TerraFirma sa pag welcome sa akin. Sana makatulong ako sa inyo, let’s get it!”

The Dyip will make their Commissioner’s Cup debut on Wednesday, November 27, 5:00 p.m., at the PhilSports Arena against the Converge FiberXers.
