"After the first round, my coach told me to go for the body," Rocili recalled. "His (Gonzalez) body was soft. I was being obedient, kept my defense tight, and I started walking him down with a high guard, just targeting his body."

The Fil-Am boxer, who has been training out of Las Vegas for the past four years, now has an unbeaten record of seven wins, including six knockouts.

Just as important as each fight, Rocili, whose family hails from Ilocos Norte, not only wants to entertain but also to inspire fight fans as he sports Bible verses on his trunks.

"It’s been a rough road the past year with fights coming off and whatnot," he shared. "It goes: 'Walk by faith, not by sight.' It’s trusting in God’s plan. Times get tough; we all struggle with our own things. It just gives me a little hope."

As he savors this victory, Rocili said he will head straight back to the Pound4Pound Gym to continue honing his skills.
