MANILA – The PBA Press Corps honored basketball icons during its 30th Annual Awards Night held Tuesday at the Novotel Araneta City in Quezon City.

Former senator Robert "Sonny" Jaworski Sr. was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, the second recipient of the citation after Alaska team owner Wilfred Uytengsu accepted it during the 25th anniversary of the PBA PC in 2019.

The Meralco Bolts coaching staff, bannered by mentor Luigi Trillo and consultant Nenad Vucinic, was recognized with the highest honor, being given the Baby Dalupan Coach of the Year award. This was the first time an entire coaching staff was feted with such achievement.

The Press Corps also celebrated Gilas Pilipinas Men, headlined by coach Tim Cone, after the national squad's feats during the past year.

Cone steered Gilas to a gold medal in the Asian Games and scored a massive upset against World No. 6 Latvia in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Riga, 89-80.

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Sports Director Alfrancis Chua was also awarded the Executive of the Year nod for three straight seasons.

Star guard Robert Bolick of the NLEX Road Warriors was named Season 48 Scoring Champion during the event, while eight-time PBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) received the Order of Merit.

Bolick averaged 25.3 points per game -- the best offensive showing in the league in his first season with the Road Warriors.

Meanwhile, San Miguel center Fajardo soaked up his third Order of Merit honor after he was previously cited with the award in 2018 and 2019.

Ginebra's LA Tenorio and Magnolia's Ian Sangalang were named William "Bogs" Adornado Comeback Players of the Year, while the Bolts' Bong Quinto is Mr. Quality Minutes.

Ginebra's Stephen Holt, Rain or Shine's Adrian Nocum, NorthPort's Cade Flores, Phoenix's Kenneth Tuffin, and Terrafirma's Kemark Carino were thrilled to be members of the PBA All-Rookie Team.

Meralco's triumph against San Miguel, 80-78, in Game 6 of the 2024 PBA Philippine Cup Finals was acknowledged as the Game of the Season.

Former PBA commissioner and executive director of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)  Renauld "Sonny" Barrios graced the event as the Guest of Honor.
