Photo from NCAA Philippines</div>MANILA — San Beda University zoomed past Jose Rizal University to return to the win column of the NCAA Season 100.The Red Lions dominated Jose Rizal University, 77-60, during their men&#x27;s basketball tournament showdown on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the San Juan Arena.Yuki Andrada led the Yuri Escueta-coached team with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists, Bryan Sajonia followed with 14 markers, while James Payosing and Jomel Puno each scored 13. Coming off a historic defeat against Emilio Aguinaldo College earlier this week, the Mendiola-based squad rediscovered their form in the second quarter and ran with a 30-8 advantage that helped them build a 46-20 lead just before the first half ended.Escueta said that this was a matter of his squad imposing themselves onto the Heavy Bombers as early as possible, especially since they were simply flat during their previous outing against the Generals last Tuesday. &quot;I have to give it to the boys on how they played today,&quot; the NCAA champion coach said after the game. &quot;They came out swinging, and the energy and effort was really there. Teams are always at their best when they play San Beda just like EAC. &quot;So sabi ko, instead of us waiting for them to punch us, why not be the aggressors?&quot; he added. The Louie Gonzales-coached squad, however, didn&#x27;t just give up before they absorbed their fourth defeat in five games. Shawn Argente fired 16 of his career-best 27 points in the third period to get his team to within 10, 51-41, midway through the same frame.It was then Coach Yuri himself who set an example for his team on being composed, and he told his squad to just solely focus on regaining their footing later on in the game.&quot;I just told the team to compose themselves,&quot; said Escueta, whose squad eventually fended off JRU in the final quarter. &quot;We needed to let go of that nine-zero run, and just focus on making stops. We just stayed positive and stayed together,&quot; he added. Moving forward, Escueta maintained that this victory was simply a part of their build-up as they look to defend their championship, especially since almost half of the Red Lions&#x27; composition this season are new players. &quot;For us, we try to learn everything on wins and losses. Kahit itong natalo kami sa EAC, panalo namin ngayon, magvi-viewing pa rin kami.
