It gained popularity again in the country recently because of BINI member Sheena Catacutan. </p><p>In other parts of the world, it&#x27;s called the &quot;shaka&quot; or &quot;hang loose&quot; gesture, tracing its roots from Hawaii.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/2024/7/21/bini-s-sheena-hopes-pinoys-eyyyy-their-way-to-good-vibes-1059">READ: BINI’s Sheena hopes Pinoys ‘Eyyyy’ their way to good vibes</a></div><p>But for sports fans and Filipinos who watched the Paris Olympics, it has been attributed to the 32-year-old boxer. </p><p>Petecio did the pose after her bouts at the Summer Games, during interviews and when she posed with fellow athletes even from other countries.</p><p>When she returned home, the boxer proudly did her trademark pose when she greeted supporters during the heroes&#x27; grand homecoming parade in Manila. </p><p>Petecio took it a notch further and even asked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other officials to do the pose in her visit to Malacañang.</p><p>She also does the pose whenever she says hi to fans or whenever she feels like it. </p><p>The 32-year-old, who is often seen laughing and joking around, said she learned it from her brother Norlan. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/8/7/paris-2024-petecio-falls-short-against-polish-foe-takes-home-bronze-255">READ: Petecio falls short against Polish foe, takes home bronze</a></div><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/8/8/petecio-remains-proud-thankful-after-settling-for-bronze-in-paris-2024-1548">READ: Petecio remains proud, thankful after settling for bronze in Paris 2024</a></div><p>&quot;Ano lang talaga sa kalokohan din. Yung kapatid kong si Norlan may pinakita siyang vlogger na ginagaya din na BINI na nag-eyyy talaga. So okay yun. Yun lang ginawa ko. Di  ko naman sa ano, di naman siya accidentally.
