Filipina track athlete Lauren Hoffman is out of medal contention in the women's 400m hurdles after a last-place finish in her repechage heat, Monday at the Stade de France.

Hoffman needed to finish in the top 2 in order to advance to the semifinals of her event in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

But the Filipina was unable to make up ground against her opponents and crossed the finish line with a time of 58.28 seconds, the last among the runners in her heat.

Qualifying from the third repechage heat were France's Shana Grebo (54.91s) and Ukraine's Anna Ryzhykova (54.95s).

Hoffman had clocked 57.84s in the heats on Sunday to move to the repechage. 

Another Filipino track athlete, John Cabang-Tolentino, will also compete in the repechage of the men's 110m hurdles after a sixth-place finish in the heats on Sunday.
