MANILA — Kyle Kuzma is in the Philippines for the first time ever.

The one-time NBA Champion is here in the country for his KuzManila 2024 Asia Tour, and he said that the experience so far has been positively overwhelming.

"I went straight to [Mall of Asia] yesterday. That was a blast, super, super fun, and this is my first time here," said the former Los Angeles Lakers stud, who went to the Pasay mall yesterday for a meet and greet with his fans.

The Washington Wizards' main man will be staying here until tomorrow and also has a basketball clinic scheduled in Quezon City, and he said that it is finally nice to have the opportunity to tour Manila and spend some time here.

"I've always wanted to go here," Kuzma said. "It's funny, I had a haircut this morning —  and I have a bunch of Filipino friends like Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green — but two of my barbers are actually Filipinos, in the States," he said, talking about the two current Filipino-American NBA guards who play for the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets, respectively.

"I've heard of a bunch of this place so I'm really excited to be here," added Kuzma.

And now that he is here, Kuzma, who is known most for his scoring prowess in the NBA, expressed his sentiments on the four-point line that the PBA recently introduced in the Season 49 opening Governors' Cup.

"I'm a fan, 100%," said the 29-year-old, Flint, Michigan native.

"I think it's good for the game. It allows more space, and at the end of the day, a lot of us [in the NBA] shoot deep threes anyways. It's kind of a bad shot in the NBA if you take a deep shot from that far because the three-point line is just right there, but a lot of us can shoot from that far."

Aside from this, Kuzma explained how it can create more stories in the NBA, and also quipped about how Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry would personally benefit from it.

"I think it would be more dramatic in the NBA, and fans would like it too," said Kuzma. "Steph would probably have more points too," he joked.
