“Today we welcomed gymnasts Emma Madaluyo and Aleah Finnegan, who participated at the Paris Olympics together with the officials from the National Golf Association of the Philippines. Participating Olympians were given cash incentives coming from the Speaker of the House Martin Romualdez thru the Committee on Youth & Sports,” Leyte 4th District Rep. Richard Gomez said in a post on social media.

Other Filipino Olympians, led by two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, Olympic bronze medalists Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas attended the Congressional Reception held at the lower house last August 14.

Yulo received P6 million from the House of Representatives for his two golds and an additional P8.010 million from contributions of House members led by House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

This is on top of the P500,000 he received before he left for the Paris Olympics. In total, Yulo received P14.510 million.
Petecio and Villegas, meanwhile, each received P1 million for winning a bronze medal, and an additional P2.5 million each from contributions of House members. They also received P500,000 each before leaving for France, totaling P4 million each.
Each of the remaining 19 Olympic athletes received a total of P1 million: P500,000 before leaving the country and P500,000.
This is on top of the P500,000 he received before he left for the Paris Olympics. In total, Yulo received P14.510 million.
