(UPDATED) Joanie Delgaco has concluded her Olympic debut at 20th place in the women's single sculls competition.

This, as the Filipina rower finished second in the Final D of the competition after clocking 7:43.83, behind Paraguay's Alejandra Alonso Alderete (7:42.09) at Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium on Friday (Manila time).

This was Delgaco's best finish in her five races in the event.

It was a decent close out for the historic run of Delgaco, who also edged fellow Southeast Asian rower Pham Thi Hue of Vietnam after the latter finished at 7:47.84.

Earlier, the 26-year-old rowing star was relegated after a fifth-place finish in semifinals C/D with a time of 8 minutes and 00.18 seconds.

She advanced to the quarterfinals after she topped the repechage heat with 7:55:00 last Sunday.

The first female rower from the Philippines in the Summer Games ended the classification heat at No. 4 with 7:56:26 and just fell short of clinching an outright quarters spot.
