MANILA -- The UAAP on Sunday canceled the remaining matches in Day 2 of its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Tournament due to hardware and technical difficulties.

The issues cropped up just before the group stage match between the University of the East and the University of the Philippines at the Hyundai Hall in the Arete at the Ateneo de Manila University campus.

The announcement was made to players and team staff approximately hours after the conclusion of the earlier match between National University and Ateneo de Manila University.

The postponed group stage matches will now be rescheduled for Tuesday, August 20, and will be played behind closed doors. There will be no livestream or audience permitted for these matches.

This marks the second instance that games in the esports tournament were postponed due to technical issues.

On August 14, VALORANT matches were also canceled due to internet connectivity woes, according to organizers.

Earlier in the day, the University of Santo Tomas started Day 2 with an impressive 2-0 sweep over Adamson University, followed by National University’s 2-0 victory against Ateneo de Manila University.

With the cancellation of the remaining Day 2 matches, NU and UST currently lead Groups A and B, respectively.
