MANILA (UPDATED) —  Expect star power at the opening ceremonies of PBA Season 49 on Sunday.

Teams have started to name their respective muses, headed by Philippine Cup champions Meralco Bolts on Friday.

They tapped Olympian gymnast Aleah Finnegan "to celebrate the achievements of Filipino athletes," the team said in a statement.

"As we gear up for another exciting PBA season, we are honored to celebrate the achievements of Filipino athletes like Aleah Finnegan," it said.

"Her journey is a testament to hard work, dedication, and the relentless spirit that drives us all. The Meralco Bolts look forward to standing alongside Aleah as we continue to electrify the court and inspire our fans," it went on.

Finnegan, a two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, is coming from a stint from the Paris Games, where she competed alongside Levi Jung-Ruivivar and Emma Malabuyo in the women's artistic gymnastics.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Fuel Masters have named Alas Pilipinas stalwart and Creamline star Jema Galanza as their opening day muse, talent agency VP Global has announced.

Galanza is a former Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) and multi-awarded best outside spiker.

As part of the league's celebration of its 49th year, PBA has decided to lower the ticket of the opener to P49 at upper box and above sections of the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
