MANILA -- It's all systems go for the homecoming parade for Filipino Olympians on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

In a press conference on Tuesday, MMDA acting chairman Atty. Romando Artes said the country's 22 Olympians will ride one float especially designed for them during the heroes' parade.

The country's Olympians are coming off a successful campaign in the 2024 Paris Summer Games, where gymnast Carlos Yulo won two gold medals in vault and floor exercise, while boxers Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio brought home a bronze medal each.

The parade is expected to start at 3:00 p.m. in front of the Aliw Theater in CCP Complex in Pasay City to Rizal Memorial Sport Complex, said Artes.

The route of the Homecoming Parade includes Roxas Blvd., P. Burgos Avenue, Finance Road, Taft Avenue, President Quirino Avenue, and Adriatico Street in Malate Manila.

There will be a short program at the Rizal Sports Complex, which is free and open to the public.

According to Artes, the parade could last for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

He added that no roads will be closed, but the agency will implement a stop and go scheme.

MMDA hopes to finish the parade before 5:00 p.m. Artes said the MMDA will be deploying 300 traffic personnel to manage the traffic flow.

According to Artes, the float carrying the Philippine Olympians will have a provision for rain cover, in an event of a heavy downpour.

Affected motorists are advised of alternate routes during the time of the parade:
