<p>Italian athlete Gianmarco Tamberi lost his wedding ring during the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics 2024, and he had a creative and romantic way of apologizing to his wife. </p><p>On Instagram, Tamberi posted his wedding photo with Chiara Bontempi as he said sorry for losing a prized possession. </p><p>&quot;I&#x27;m sorry, my love. I&#x27;m so sorry. Too much water, too many kg lost in the past few months, or maybe the uncontrollable enthusiasm of what we were doing. If I had to invent an apology, I would never have been this imaginative,&quot; he said. </p><p>The Olympian then found an opportunity to renew his wedding vows with his wife, suggesting for her to throw her ring into the Seine River so their wedding bands will be together forever. </p><p>His post has since gone viral, with many netizens praising his &quot;beautiful&quot; message to his wife. </p><p>&quot;I think there might be a huge poetic side to yesterday&#x27;s misdeed. And if you want, we&#x27;ll throw yours (ring) into that river, too, so they&#x27;ll be together forever,&quot; Tamberi said. &quot;And we&#x27;ll have one more excuse to, like you&#x27;ve always asked, to renew our vows and get married anew.&quot;</p><p>&quot;I love you, my love. May it be auspicious to come home with even bigger gold!&quot; he ended.</p>
