Filipina swimmer Kayla Sanchez missed out on a spot in the final of the women's 100m freestyle in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Sanchez clocked 54.21 seconds in the second semifinal on Tuesday at the Paris La Defense Arena (early Wednesday in Manila), good for seventh place.

Sanchez, 23, won a silver and a bronze in the Tokyo Olympics when she was representing Canada. She switched federations to the Philippines in July 2022 and made her debut for the country in the Asian Games in 2023.
