MANILA -- The Philippines' hosting of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2025 was officially launched on Tuesday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Presidential son William Vincent "Vinny" Araneta Marcos led the ceremonial launch during a break between matches of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men's Week 3 competition at the Pasay City venue.

"We're proud and confident of hosting the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2025," said the 27-year-old Marcos, who chairs the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the event.

The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2025 is set to run from September 12 to 28, 2025, and will be held at both the MOA Arena and the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Volleyball World CEO Finn Taylor officially handed over the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2025 ceremonial ball to Marcos and LOC co-chairs Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino, and Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richard Bachmann.

Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon "Tats" Suzara, who serves as the LOC president and CEO, orchestrated the ceremony. The event was attended by notable figures including Asian Volleyball Confederation president Rita Sibowo and Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano. Top officials from Volleyball World, VNL, and FIVB were also present to oversee the country's third-time hosting of the VNL.

"The ball is now very much in play for the country's hosting of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2025," said Suzara. "Dozens of activities are lined up ahead of the hosting of the world's most prestigious and important volleyball tournament."

Senator Cayetano, who also serves as PNVF's chairman emeritus, added, "We will be a sports tourism powerhouse."
