MANILA — After last year's edition was marked with long lines and alleged overcrowding, CONQuest organizers said it won't be holding the weekend long pop culture festival in the "forseeable future."

"We want to officially announce that there will be no CONQuest for the forseeable future. CONQuest was special to us. We are incredibly grateful for the memories and the community we've built together over the years," Arclight said in a statement.

Arclight was formerly AcadArena SG, which facilitated last year's event. Since late last year, AcadArena shifted its focus back to organizing scholarship programs for student gamers.

As Arclight, they organized the fanmeet of Disguised Toast in UP Diliman.

Last year's CONQuest, guested by content creators such as Newt, Valkyrae, Fuslie, Sykkuno, and The Rose, received criticism over lines which spanned for hours on end.

CONQuest Festival, which started its roots in Iloilo, traditionally starts in June.
