MANILA - Smart Omega Empress on Sunday afternoon earned the right to represent the country in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after dominating the Philippine qualifiers held at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati.

This comes after they made quick work of TNC Z4 in the Grand Finals of the SILAB: Road to MWI Philippine Qualifiers, 3-0.

Smart Omega Empress obliterated TNC Z4 in the first few games, dominating both maps to reach match point. ONIC ZOL and  Super Monching will place 3rd to 4th place in the competition.

TNC had a good chance to deny a sweep with a two-man takedown in the 15 minute mark of Game 3 but Omega Empress decimated their opponents'  base low enough to make the final push.

TNC Z4 and other professional women's teams who were eliminated in SILAB can still have another go at the Snapdragon Pro Series: Women's League APJ Finals, where the champion can claim a spot in MWI.

MWI will be held concurrently with the Esports World Cup and the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup.

MWI will be part of the Esports World Cup, which will be held in the Saudi capital Riyadh, concurrently with the newly-rebranded MSC. Saudi Arabia has been met with criticism for alleged "sportswashing" tactics amid  serious human rights concerns surrounding laws against homosexuality and gender inequality.

The Esports World Cup will have 17 other games aside from MLBB such as StarCraft 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, TeamFight Tactics, PUBG Mobile, and PUBG, TEKKEN 8, among others.
