Fans were thrilled to see founder Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee in attendance.

Both opening games were intense and fast-paced.

Game 1 between Valenzuela Classic and Zamboanga Master Sardines went to overtime with Zamboanga prevailing in the end game.

In game 2, the Abra Weavers impressed with a win showing they are serious about fighting for the title. They defeated host Pangasinan, 83-75.

Pacquiao said he expects many more close games this season.

‘There are so many good teams this year. I expect wars on the court. Teams have strengthened their line up all wanting to be champions. The league remains committed to develop homegrown basketball talents to reach their full potential,’ said Pacquiao

‘We know that every team has strengthened every aspect of their game and they all want to win the title. Every game will be a battle,” said Archie Concepcion of the defending champions Pampanga.

‘I’m so excited to play in this league . It’s fast and physical and I’m ready to put my skills to the test," said Clint Escamis of the Abra Weavers.

Games will be held 6 days a week with the finals set on December 2024.
