MANILA – Despite falling short of a semis ticket, star libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig was satisfied with her first conference with the Cignal HD Spikers.

"Masaya pa rin naman kahit nga na we fell short, but for me it's a learning experience," Macandili-Catindig said as Cignal finished strong in the PVL All-Filipino Conference after a 25-19, 25-17, 25-20 sweep of Capital1 on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.

Macandili-Catindig acknowledged their weaknesses, which she said include chemistry and effort.

"Siyempre, it's all about team effort and kailangan talaga ma-resolve namin 'yung chemistry pa namin and kung pa'no namin madadala 'yung team sa taas," the decorated libero said.

The former F2 star, who only joined Shaq delos Santos' nest last December 2023, said she was still adjusting to the team but hailed the squad's resiliency and being intact in games, win or lose.

"For me, dahil nga bago 'ko sa team, so kinikilala ko pa rin talaga 'yung bawat teammates ko, 'yung weaknesses, 'yung strengths, and 'yun, I'm still in that process. 'Yun nga 'yung gusto ko sa team namin ngayon, through ups and downs talagang solid pa din," she said.

The former La Salle spiker said she was proud to see her former teammates advance to the next round — Chery Tiggo's Aby Maraño and Ara Galang, Choco Mucho's Mars Alba, and Petro Gazz's Joy Dacoron — and said she's rooting for them.

"Siyempre happy for them kasi alam ko naman kung ga'no nila kagusto and siyempre gusto rin naman namin but it's all about 'yung team effort nga. So happy ako na nagawa nila 'yung part nila sa team nila and nandun sila [sa semis] and I'm rooting for them."
