MANILA -- Filipino-American fighter Jackie Buntan will get another chance to win a ONE Championship title in July.

Buntan will collide against Anissa "C18" Meksen for the inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship at ONE Fight Night 23 on July 6 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Buntan has won her last three bouts, including a victory over Martine "The Italian Queen" Michieletto at ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs Phetjeeja.

This is also Buntan's chance to redeem herself after falling short in challenging for the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title against Smilla "The Hurricane" Sundell back at ONE 156: Eersel vs Sadikovic back in 2022.

Since then, Buntan has conquered Amber Kitchen, beaten Diandra Martin via first round knockout, and taken down Michiletto.

However, she will enter as the underdog against Meksen, who is considered as the undisputed pound-for-pound best women's kickboxer on the planet.

The French-Algerian contender is determined to bounce back especially after failing to capture the ONE Interim Atomweight Kickboxing World Title from Phetjeeja at ONE Friday Fights 46: Tawanchai vs. Superbon and prove that she's not just a worthy champion on paper.
