The French Olympic Committee started a five-day tour of the facilities in the regions of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur on Monday (April 22) as it presents its bid to host the 2030 Winter Olympic Games.

The IOC commission began its visit in La Clusaz, in the northern French Alps where France wants to hold the cross-country skiing events.

The chair of the future host commission for the Olympic Winter Games, Karl Stoss, said he had “a very, very good feeling” but that “we have not crossed the finish line yet”.

President of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region, Laurent Wauquiez, said 95% of France’s project is based on existing infrastructures, part of which will come from Albertville 92.

France has also staged the Winter Games in 1924 in Chamonix and in 1968 in Grenoble.
