High school football star Caleb Sanchez chooses Columbia University

It was a big day for Filipino Salvadorian American high school football prodigy Caleb Sanchez.

 On National Signing Day, where student athletes officially commit to colleges, St. John Bosco high school quarterback Caleb Sanchez announced that he will be attending Columbia University later this year.

 The Ivy League school has produced about 30 NFL players in its history.

 This past season, Sanchez threw for over 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns.

 While the team could not repeat as national champions, Sanchez and the Braves still ended the season as one of the top ranked high school football teams in the country.

In an announcement video, the graduating high school senior thanked his friends, family, teammates and coaches for believing in him.

He also shared at his recent recruitment trip to the Ivy League college where he was proudly waving both the Philippines and El Salvador flags.
