Kennedy Caacbay, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Women's National Futsal Team has expressed unwavering confidence in its upcoming campaign at the ASEAN Women's Futsal Championship 2024.

Despite being the lowest placed squad among its peers, the 59th-ranked national team is eager to prove that it can compete among the bests in the region.

Joining the tournament to be held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City from November 16 to 21 are world number six Thailand, 11th ranked Vietnam, 24th-ranked Indonesia, and 37th–ranked Myanmar.

"We want to dominate this tournament," player Isabella Bandoja said during a press conference on Tuesday in San Juan City. "We want to win this tournament."

Their run here will serve as a kickstart as the Pinay players embark on a journey towards the Philippine-hosted 2025 FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup.

"So much excitement, siyempre masaya since first time ko po na gan'tong kalaking tournament po 'yung sasalihan ko. Sobrang excited po talaga," she said.
