MANILA -- Fritz Biagtan has full confidence that Denice Zamboanga can get the job done when "The Menace" returns to action in ONE Championship next year.

Biagtan had seen how distraught his fiancee was when she suffered an injury that forced her to withdraw from her planned title bout in October against Alyona Rassohyna.

"Of course, she was a little bit discouraged, because she was thinking that this is the interim World Title fight, this is go-time," said Biagtan.

But Zamboanga is healthy now, and she is all set to take on Rassohyna for the ONE Interim Atomweight MMA World Title in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 27 on January 11 in Bangkok, Thailand.

"When she got injured, we looked at it as a sign that [she has] to take a rest, [she needs] time to study [her] opponent. And that's something that we did," said Biagtan.

"We scouted her opponent, we watched her fights more, and I believe that for this fight camp, we'll be well equipped and more firm on what will be our game plan," he added.

Biagtan said Zamboanga is now hard at work to make up for lost time, while also displaying a willingness to learn and correct her flaws.

"Denice never stops. She's open to learning," he said.

"She opens herself up to taking in new techniques, which keeps her improving. What we saw from her in her past fights, she'll be so much better this time," Biagtan added.

With that in mind, Biagtan is confident that Zamboanga will restart her campaign to take over the division with a bang against Rassohyna.

"As of this time, she's fine, she's in good spirits," he said. "Her mind is ready. She's ready physically, mentally, and spiritually for this fight."
