The High Speed Hitters did this by beating Galeries in straight sets, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23, on Tuesday at the Ynares Center here.

The Highrisers were on pace to force another frame after building a 21-15 separation late in the third canto, but the High Speed Hitters, who were then holding a 2-0 set lead, orchestrated a 10-2 run, capped by a Savi Davison block point to overcome the gritty Galeries side.

Coach Rald Ricafort lamented the complacency of the team, saying that it should not have happened in the first place if they were in control.

"Hindi dapat umabot sa gano'n eh, 'yung hahabol pa kami nang malaki kung na-kontrol namin 'yung start. Ang reminder kasi sa kanila, tulad nung sa Nxled (win), hindi porket nag-up na kami 2-0, medyo may complacency na," said Ricafort during the postgame press conference.

"Hindi nila sinasadya, pero nasobrahan siguro 'yung pagka-relaxed," he added.

Still, it was a good sweep for the PLDT side to clinch its second triumph, while Galeries was sent to a 0-3 win-loss card.

Star spiker Davison led the High Speed Hitters' offense, listing 28 points on 26 attacks, while fellow hitter Erika Santos also delivered 14 points.

Setter Angge Alcantara was on the steering wheel of that firepower and registered 15 excellent sets.

Meanwhile, outside hitter France Ronquillo paced the sliding Galeries with a 19-piece, 18 of those anchored on attacks.

PLDT will face Capital1 next on Tuesday, November 26, while the Lerma Giron-coached squad has a chance to bounce back against Zus Coffee on November 28.
