Handout/PNVFMANILA -- All delegates and fans will feel at home when the Philippines hosts the FIVB Men’s World Championship (MWCH) in September 2025.

This was the promise made by Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) President Ramon "Tats" Suzara over the weekend as he touted the local fans' love for the sport during the FIVB World Congress.

"We can't get enough of volleyball. The Philippines is a country that loves volleyball," said Suzara during the main session of the congress in Porto, Portugal.

"The rest of the world do not know that yet … that we love volleyball and that Filipino volleyball fans set the standard," he added, pointing out the response of Filipinos to the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) that the country has hosted for three years in a row.

"We scream and cheer louder than anyone else," said Suzara. "We bring our love for the game in the arenas, online and wherever we go. We warmly welcome anyone who play the game, that even foreign players and fans feel right at home because as long as you love volleyball, the Philippines will feel like you’re home."

Suzara, who was elected in September as the president of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, spoke before more than 200 members of the sport's world governing body, including newly-elected FIVB president Fabio Azevedo and former president Ary Graça, both of Brazil, and secretary-general Hugh McCutcheon of New Zealand.

He also hailed the improvement made by the Philippine men's volleyball team, which is now ranked No. 64 in the world.

Joining Suzara in the congress were PNVF vice president Ricky Palou, secretary-general Donaldo Caringal and director Tonyboy Liao.

The Philippines will host the FIVB Men's World Championship from September 12-28 at the Mall of Asia Arena and the Araneta Coliseum next year.
