MANILA, Philippines – Fil-Canadian Savi Davison finally saw Premier Volleyball League (PVL) action on Tuesday.

Davison had to rest and recover as she nursed a minor injury, prompting her to miss the entire 2024 Reinforced Conference.

Now that the PLDT ace is back, Davison is eager to contribute for the High Speed Hitters, especially after their painful -- and controversial -- exit in the semifinals of the Reinforced Conference at the hands of the Akari Chargers.

The High Speed Hitters started strong in the tilt, winning against Nxled in four sets, 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

“Obviously, we all kind of have a chip on our shoulder to come back, but regardless of what happened last conference, I think we're just working hard to enter that podium spot, and that's our main goal moving forward,” said Davison.

“I'm just excited to contribute the way I'm used to. I'm super grateful with how this whole process turned out with me being able to play so early,” she also said.

The 25-year-old outside hitter also shared what was the "most difficult part" about recovering from the injury.

“I think the injury itself, just not being able to contribute the way I'm used to. Seeing everything from the outside perspective, I think that was the hardest part, but you know, it makes you think about all the things you should be grateful for once you get back, and just being to move again,” she said.

In her first game back, Davison showed her form, listing a team-high 19 points built on 18 attacks.
