The Adamson girls' volleyball team in UAAP Season 87. UAAP MediaMANILA -- Defending champion Adamson University and Far Eastern University-Diliman completed the Final 4 cast of the UAAP Season 87 girls' volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

FEU-Diliman punched their ticket with a 25-17, 25-22, 25-15 sweep of UP Integrated School.

Later in the day, Adamson also pulled off a tough straight sets win against De La Salle-Zobel, 25-19, 25-13, 28-26.

FEU-Diliman improved to 7-2 while Adamson hiked its record to 6-3. They joined National University-Nazareth School (8-1) and University of Santo Tomas (7-2) in the semifinals.

The Lady Baby Tamaraws had a comfortable 12-6 lead in Set 3 before their own errors allowed UPIS to close the gap. The deficit was too much, however, and a 6-0 blast highlighted by back-to-back aces from Aleah Devosora put FEU-Diliman back in control.

Sheila Pascual's decisive attack brought FEU-D to match point, and Bernadine Boston's tip closed out the match at 25-15.

"Ang sabi ko nga sa mga bata, ang goal namin ngayon mapunta doon sa top two. 'Yun muna ang goal namin, kasi syempre ang top two may advantage," FEU-Diliman coach Joanne Bunag said after their latest win.

Pascual led FEU-Diliman with 19 points on 15 kills and two blocks, while Devosora added 11 points, including five aces.

UPIS, already eliminated from the Final Four, remained in sixth with a 2-8 record.

A net touch from the Junior Lady Spikers' side sent Adamson to match point.

However, four errors from Adamson and a service ace from Tessa Bonafe tied the game up at 24-all. A net touch from Aislinn Alemaña pushed the Lady Baby Falcons to match point once again, before Antonia Bololoy and Abby Segui combined for a crucial block to claim the victory, 28-26.

"Balik kami ulit sa training, kumbaga training, viewing, kung paano pag-aralan 'yung kalaban especially 'yung last two games namin," Adamson coach JP Yude said.

Ellaine Gonzalvo took charge for the Lady Baby Falcons, racking up 12 points with eight attacks and four aces in just two sets. Sam Cantada and Abby Segui contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Alemaña paced the Junior Lady Spikers in the loss with 11 points, all from attacks.

The loss dropped La Salle-Zobel to 3-7.

In an earlier game, NU-Nazareth cruised to a 25-2, 25-9, 25-11 demolition of Ateneo to tighten their grip on the No. 1 spot.

In a dominant outing, NUNS' Harlyn Serneche recorded 16 points with 13 attacks in the 48-minute match. Denesse Daylisan and Diza Berayo added 10 points apiece. 

Ateneo remained winless in 10 games.
