Teng, who last played for Quezon Huskers in the MPBL, revealed Tuesday in a social media post that he will be running for councilor in the town of Gumaca in Quezon province.

"Now, with much contemplation and constant prayers, I feel that it’s the right time to use a different platform to give back and inspire more people—beyond sports and into other aspects that can benefit our community," Teng said on Instagram.

Teng explained that their family is from Gumaca, and he wants to help the local town get known and contribute to its progress.
