Aquino and Yap had a civil wedding in 2005. They welcomed Bimby two years later in 2007.

They separated in 2010, and their marriage was annulled two years later in 2012. Aquino said her age gap with Yap was a factor in their marriage eventually ending.
Last year, Aquino said Bimby, her youngest son, had started "rebuilding his relationship" with his father.

Meanwhile, Yap said that his partner Michela Cazzola could not accompany him during Tuesday's COC filing as she was fetching their kids from school.
