Handout/PFF</div>MANILA -- The Philippine men&#x27;s and women&#x27;s national football teams will be busy in the coming months as they are set to compete in major competitions.The men&#x27;s national team will vie in the King&#x27;s Cup from October 11-14 in Thailand, where they will battle the host country, Tajikistan and Syria.Meanwhile, the Filipinas will finally be back in action in the Pink Ladies Cup on October 26-30 in Turkey, where they will be pitted against Jordan and Congo.Albert Capellas, head coach of the men&#x27;s football team, shared his goals for the squad during a press conference on Friday.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/9/10/albert-capellas-is-new-head-coach-of-ph-mens-football-team-1632">READ: Albert Capellas is new head coach of PH men&#x27;s football team</a></div>&quot;The first one is honesty in everything that we do. The national team has to look in the eyes that we do the right thing for the national team,&quot; he said.&quot;Next is commitment. Everybody has to have the commitment to do their best for the national team, the players, the staff, the federation, everyone around because we need their commitment, 100 percent commitment, to achieve the aims we&#x27;re looking for,&quot; he added.The Spanish coach also emphasized how crucial it is to adopt a winning mindset in every game.&quot;I always think that before the game, I always have the chance to win the next game,&quot; he said.Aside from the aforementioned values, Capellas wants to &quot;to build up the game, avoid wrong ball without sense, and to have better composition.&quot;He also said that he sees potential in a lot of Filipino football players.&quot;I already scout a lot of them and I have seen players with a lot of quality that can help us to play in the way that we want to play,&quot; he said.Meanwhile, Mark Torcaso, the head coach of the Philippine women&#x27;s national team, is working to ensure that the team plays well enough to qualify for the Asian Cup in 2026 and the World Cup in 2027.&quot;We had a strategy to play some really really tough opponents at the start of the year and the plan now is to face opponents that are probably closer to us or a little bit less so we can focus more on the way we want to play,&quot; he said.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/10/5/fifa-confirms-dates-for-womens-world-cup-in-ph-1234">READ: FIFA confirms dates for Women&#x27;s World Cup in PH</a></div><div>BUSY MONTHS AHEAD</div>According to the Philippine Football Federation president John Gutierrez, the coming months are going to be very exciting for the football community.&quot;We&#x27;ve got so much football that I hope it becomes a trend in the following years that the Filipinos get to look forward to something or to a season where they can watch football,&quot; Gutierrez said.&quot;We&#x27;ve got some upcoming tournaments where the women&#x27;s and men&#x27;s teams will showcase the new direction. Not to mention we&#x27;ve also got the AFF Futsal Women&#x27;s Championship coming up in November,&quot; he said.Meanwhile, the Director of the Senior National Team Freddy Gonzales said there are at least six games that local fans should look out for.&quot;That&#x27;s what&#x27;s keeping us busy. We&#x27;re preparing for all of that,&quot; he said.
