The match, a thrilling back-and-forth battle, concluded with Cobb pinning Madrigal after a series of devastating moves.

Madrigal's 500-day reign came to a shocking end, leaving fans in disbelief. Despite interference attempts from FPW owner Red Ollero and Gymbro Thiago, the match remained a high-intensity affair from start to finish.

A gracious Madrigal acknowledged Cobb's dominance, expressing his honor in losing to his idol.

"Proud moment for me. Okay lang sa akin matalo, may rematch naman eh. Sabi ni Jeff, you carried the promotion for how many days, parang it's time mag-concentrate naman ako to help the other guys improve," the former champ said.

Cobb, fresh from his loss of the New Japan Pro Wrestling TV Title, expressed his excitement about bringing more prestige to the FPW Championship, even hinting at the possibility of defending it at Wrestle Kingdom.

"Your champion is a New Japan Pro Wrestler. I plan to bring it back to Japan. I don't know what next tour I'm on but wherever tour I'm on I plan to have this on my shoulder. I plan to have this on my entrance whatever tour I'm coming on and whatever show I'm on hoping I can get more eyes on this like I said not just FPW but Filipino Pro Wrestling and the Philippines in general," Cobb said

Cobb, a seasoned veteran with stints in NJPW and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), first made his mark in the Philippines in 2019. He praised the significant improvement in the local wrestling scene since then, highlighting the talent of wrestlers like "Good Guy" Quatro, who is now the number one contender.

"The level has gone up since I last was here and it has made me very happy," he said.

The FPW: Astig event was a second consecutive sellout for Ollero's promotion, featuring a stacked card with international flair. James Martinez defeated Outback Adam, Quatro triumphed in a triple threat match, and Chino Guinto overcame Ralph Imabayashi and Duke Ortega. The YOLO Twins emerged victorious over SPD and Jan "Mad Doctor" Evander, while Jeffrey defeated Thiago in an impromptu strap match.

Ollero, stepping out of character, expressed his gratitude to Madrigal for his contributions to Filipino wrestling. Madrigal and Ollero have been in an ongoing storyline feud for months now.

"Kayfabe off pare, Mike, I wouldn't do it with anyone else. He's been a great champion not only in the ring... I always tell him 'You're always in the main event,' that's big pressure for anyone," said Ollero.

The Pinoy pro-wrestling scene has experienced a surge in popularity in recent months, and Ollero promises even bigger and better events for the future as they have their off season.
