MANILA, Philippines – Lorenz Capulong's best scoring so far propelled Arellano University to a 91-86 win over Lyceum of the Philippines University in the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament on Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Capulong stuffed the stat sheet with 30 points and 16 rebounds to help the Chiefs secure their fourth win in the collegiate tilt and keep their hopes for a Final Four spot alive.

Meanwhile, the Pirates absorbed a double whammy after JM Bravo was knocked unconscious after colliding with Arellano's Renzo Abiera in the dying moments of the match, eventually suffering their sixth loss in 12 games.

The Chiefs squandered a 15-point lead as the Pirates eventually tied the match, 72-all, after Simon Penafiel's strong drive to the basket at the 8:56 mark in the final frame.

They managed to break away again after a 12-4 blitz for an 84-76 count, capped by a Capulong one-hander for his 30th point in the game.

It became a tie encounter again at 86-apiece with 1:21 remaining after the Pirates unleashed another 10-3 fightback.

Ernest Geronimo was there to shatter the deadlock as Abiera followed through with a fastbreak conversion for a four-point 90-86 separation before the unfortunate Bravo incident.

John Barba and Bravo paced the sliding Lyceum with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
